“Everything is only for a day, both that which remembers and that which is remembered.”
– Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (A.D. 121 – 180), Meditations
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus was a Roman emperor, ruling from A.D. 160 – 180. He also practiced Stoicism, which is reflected in his work Meditations.
I especially enjoyed LeFevre’s sculpture for this quote, because hey! There’s my name!

What can I say? When you’re born with an old-fashioned name, you get excited about seeing it… almost anywhere.
This quote can be found along Library Way, a stretch of East 41st Street, which leads to the New York Public Library. The plaque was sculpted by Gregg LeFevre.
