Kanin was a New York writer and director of theater and film. Born Yesterday was a play written and directed by Kanin. It premiered in 1946 and was later turned into a film in 1950.
This quote can be found along Library Way, a stretch of East 41st Street, which leads to the New York Public Library. The plaque was sculpted by Gregg LeFevre.
