First Impressions

Let me start things off by getting something off my chest:

I hate introductions.

I was that quiet kid on the first day of school with sweaty palms, nervously counting down how many students stood between me and my turn to share X number of personal facts. Going over and over what I’d say—”I like reading. My favorite movie is Black Beauty, no, yes, no, The Little Mermaid?”—and STILL managing to screw it up by either stammering out an answer or blushing so hard my ears seemed seconds away from producing steam.

I’d like to tell you that, as an adult, I’ve become a confident woman able to introduce herself with a finesse that rivals seasoned politicians on campaign tours… but that would be a (blatant) lie. In reality, I come off as what I believe polite society likes to call “quirky.”

With that said, I’m writing to you today, dear Reader, to acquaint you with my new project and myself by extension. As its title suggests, the blog will feature notes and thoughts on a variety of subjects. It may seem a bit random at times, but I plan to base each day around a theme.
